I expect to be downvoted into oblivion for this, but you're basically saying you had a 168 IQ, but wasn't smart enough to know that you ought to jump through the hoops even if they were "beneath you" because, well, it was beneath you.

The kind of attitude you had at the time can serve you in high school, but in the real world where people higher on the political totem pole resent being thought of as stupid, even if they are, and still control your future regardless of your IQ.
