That's exactly the route I took, but I'm using a commercial storage OS that is ZFS-based, as well. I'm using Nexenta on Supermicro hardware. It will be about 60% cheaper, and perform better, than most of what the storage vendors can sell you, unless you go way up in budget.

I think that's exactly right. Look at the US Army's Blackhawk safety record when it was first introduced. Lots of them crashed because it was so maneuverable and so strong that pilots felt kind of invincible.

I use Sharefile. Works great. Most people simply do NOT want to use filezilla or any other FTP client. The majority of end users want a web page with big fat "DOWNLOAD" or "UPLOAD" buttons. It has all the tracking, notifying, and reporting features you need.

It happened to me. I had the same prof for two classes. I had to get a 35 on the final to change my grade, so he told me I could take it if I wanted. When I got home, he had sent me an email telling me the same thing for my other class. Those were the last exams I had for the semester. Good feeling to be done before you planned to be.
