Very valid point. Not sure why you were downvoted.

At the first image, I was hoping this was going to progress into a desk that had a screen that would rise up out of the table.

I didn't like it until further inspection and the link you've provided in the comments, finding that there is in fact a door to enclose it. Cuts/holes are a bit sketchy, but hey, it's probably better than I'd do!

3 years ago my wife had taught a college freshman class and for some reason worked a Guns N Roses Live (80's) video into it. There were only 2 kids in the class who knew who they were.

Do a cleaning every 6 months, but I actually hadn't thought about looking for bad caps (not sure why... it's an old server!)

True but when trying to cut costs, as the OP was trying to buy everything on sale, a couple hundred bucks saved on CAT 5e might not be worth it.

I haven't used a land line in years, but I imagine the sound quality isn't much worse these days.

I use a scheduled task that runs a batch file which does this: shutdown.exe /r /t 600 /f /c "Scheduled Restart" /d P:2:4

Been using the same command for a few months without any problems like this.

Not sure why all the comments pointing out the fact that this post violates the specific goal it's shooting for. The image is about rules of the subreddit, not about games or gaming.

I got a free copy of Windows Server 2003 through my school. Now what? by RPGillespie6in windows

[–]the_timmer_42 1 point2 points ago

A wired connection is always recommended over wireless but if you're just testing things out, it doesn't really matter. If you get to the point where you're using it to host a service that you're actually going to use, I'd plug it in.

I'm also surprised that people are still wiring for phones. I applaud the OP for it as well as all the other cabling (and doing it right), but I also feel that it's a waste.

It's running now and came up just fine after recycling the power on it. As I mentioned, I've checked logs which shows nothing relating to any events that happened between the time of the scheduled restart and the time I arrived to bring it back up. Haven't pursued any UPS logs based on nothing else having an issue.

No, they were not, though I'll be taking the opportunity to do that for future scheduled restarts.
